The Cholla Choppers sponsor three major contest each year. The Southwest Regional Control line Championships in January, the Vintage Stunt Championships in March, and the Karl Marschinke Memorial in late September. The contest results of each is availiable as 'PDF' files for you to Read, Print, Save, or all three just by clicking on any of the highlighted boxes below.

The Southwest Regionals Control Line Championships is one of the longest continous running triple 'A' contests in the country. Stared in 1951 by Mr. Webster of Webster's Hobby shop in Phoenix, The Regionals in 2006 will be its 56th year. The orginal contest site was at the Buckeye airport Northwest of Buckeye Arizona from 1951 to 1984. The Cholla Choppers took over the control line portion in 1985 and Tucson became the Regionals new home. The Karl Marschinke Memorial Contest is held in late September to early October each year. The Cholla Choppers have run this September contest for 29 years. The Cholla Chopper with the help of the Central Arizona Control Line Club took over the management and running of the Vintage Stunt Championships in the summer of 2002. This new team conducted VSC XV (15) in March of 2003 and has continued to do so ever since. VSC XIX (19) will take place in March 2007 the dates for which are March 14 - 17 2007.[VSC Flyer Page]. The picture (at top left) is that of Tom McClain's B-26 taken on landing of its first official VSC flight. The picture was taken at VSC 18 2006. I believe that this plane will be back for VSC 19.

Don McClave's Skylark Don McClave's Classic Plane the Skylark and has just recently been complete. Don has been flying and triming this plane and is planning on bringing it to VSC 19. If it flys like his Tucker of last years did, he could very well be in the top ten again. ===============>
